The POA has multiple cameras focused on our gate entrances and exits. The primary reason for the cameras is to allow car traffic to more easily enter and exit the gates using license plate recognition technology that is currently planned to be operational in 2024.
While the cameras may provide additional security for the resort, this is not their primary purpose. Moreover, concerns are raised about the use of license plate readers (LPRs) and privacy. As a result, the board approved a policy regarding access to security footage from POA owned and operated cameras.
POA camera footage will normally be maintained for a short period of time – no more than 30 days and in some cases a shorter period. Recordings will only be released pursuant to a request from law enforcement or a valid court subpoena.
If a homeowner has any questions regarding this policy, please contact our POA manager at manager@reunionwestpoa.com.
